Project Overview
Social Tap approached Nuvy Labs to bring their vision of modern, frictionless networking to life. The idea was straightforward but ambitious: replace the traditional business card with a smart, digital-first alternative that lets professionals share their complete profile with a single tap.
We partnered with the Social Tap team from the ground up — designing the user experience, building the web platform, and developing a management dashboard that gives users full control over their digital identity and networking analytics.
The result is a polished, production-ready platform that enables individuals and businesses to create customizable digital profiles, share them instantly via NFC or QR codes, and track every interaction through a centralized dashboard.
The Challenge
Professional networking has barely evolved in decades. Paper business cards get lost, contact details go stale, and there is no way to know whether someone actually saved your information after a meeting. Social Tap's founding team identified three core problems in the networking space:
Fragmented contact sharing. Professionals juggle LinkedIn profiles, personal websites, email signatures, and social media handles — but there was no single, shareable hub that consolidates everything. Recipients often had to manually search for or type out contact details after an event.
Waste and inefficiency of paper cards. An estimated 10 billion business cards are printed every year, and nearly 90% of them are discarded within a week. Beyond the environmental cost, paper cards cannot be updated once handed out — a job change or new phone number renders them obsolete.
Zero visibility into networking ROI. After handing out a stack of cards at a conference, there was no way to tell who looked at your information, when they engaged, or whether your networking efforts were actually leading to connections. The entire process was a black box.
Our Solution
We designed and developed a full-stack web platform that addresses each of these pain points with a clean, intuitive experience. The core product revolves around customizable digital profiles that can be shared in seconds through NFC taps or QR code scans — no app install required for the recipient.
NFC-enabled profile sharing. Users receive a Social Tap card or device embedded with an NFC chip. When tapped against any modern smartphone, it instantly opens the user's digital profile in the recipient's browser. For devices without NFC, a QR code provides the same seamless access. The entire exchange takes under two seconds.
Customizable digital profiles. Each user gets a personalized profile page where they can showcase their name, role, company, bio, social media links, portfolio, contact details, and custom call-to-action buttons. Profiles can be updated anytime — the next person who taps the card always sees the latest information.
Web dashboard and analytics. We built a comprehensive dashboard that gives users and businesses a real-time view of their networking activity. They can see how many times their profile was viewed, which links were clicked, where views came from geographically, and how engagement trends over time. This turns networking from guesswork into data.
Contact management. When someone views a profile and shares their own details back, the connection is automatically captured in a built-in contact manager. Users can add notes, tag contacts by event or category, and export data to their existing CRM — ensuring no lead is ever lost.
